Varicocele
  • It is a condition characterized by dilation of venous channels draining the testes due to backflow of blood
  • Patients may have dragging pain in the scrotum and groin regions on either one side or both sides or can be asymptomatic
  • Detected by clinical examination and ultrasound scan of scrotum
Surgical treatment options
  • Sub-inguinal microscopic varicocelectomy
  • Laparoscopic varicocelectomy
Obstruction of ejaculatory ducts
  • It is another condition causing male infertility
  • Detected by absence of fructose in semen analysis and confirmed by transrectal ultrasound of prostate and seminal vesicles.

Surgical treatment (TURED) – Resectoscope introduced through urethra and electrically heated wire is used to cut over the tissue or prostatic utricle cyst in order to relieve the obstruction.
